Library Spring Good Life Lecture Series

The Carlsbad City Library is hosting a series of lectures designed to help participants learn new skills and information for a better quality of life for themselves and their loved one. Lectures occur on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Gowland Meeting Room at Carlsbad City Library, located at 1775 Dove Lane. Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided.

May 2 – Decoding the Hidden Messages of Your Dreams with Dr. Patricia Ariadne

Dr. Patricia Ariadne, LMFT will lead an informative interactive workshop on dreams and dreaming. Discover how to better remember and record your dreams. Learn what certain dream symbols mean and how to create your own dream dictionary.  Dr. Ariadne is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Encinitas. May 9 – Caregiving in the 21st Century with Taffy Cannon

Caregiving is as old as time and as new as tomorrow’s medical appointment.  Come and learn how to provide necessary assistance to a loved one, and still maintain one’s own sanity through understanding what to do and setting priorities.  Taffy Cannon, author SibCare: The Trip You Never Planned to Take will led this workshop by sharing her personal experiences and professional skills learned. Cannon is the Agatha and Macavity Award-nominated author of fourteen mysteries and winner of the San Diego Book Award for Best Mystery/Thriller. May 16 – Peace through Planning: How Thinking about Your Future Health Will Give You Peace of Mind with Suzan Colgan

Suzan Colgan, attorney-at-law, will discuss how planning one’s future health can provide a peace of mind and reduce stress for loved ones. Come and learn what planning can be put in place to ensure loved ones know your wishes, how to receive desired medical care, ensure that a trusted person can make decisions, and the importance of how reviewing these plans often ensures they work when needed.
