More Information
Composting, nature's way of recycling, turns "organic waste," including food scraps, leaves and grass trimmings, into a valuable organic fertilizer. In these hands-on workshops, residents will learn: simple solutions for reducing waste at home, composting basics, vermicomposting basics, using a worm bin, as well as using compost in the garden. Attendees have the opportunity to win a free compost bin, or purchase one at a discounted price. For more information about bin purchases and composting workshops please visit The Ecology Center website.

Programs like these support the City of Carlsbad’s Sustainability and Environmental Guiding Principles by reducing waste and increasing recycling. For questions about these programs please contact the city’s Recycling & Trash staff at recycle.trash@carlsbadca.gov or 760-602-4646.
