Each Monday in October (except Oct. 12), 3:30-4:30 p.m. Virtual Tween Scene A weekly program of rotating topics such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), games and a hands-on activity for tweens in grades 4 – 6. Presented on Zoom, register online.
Wednesday, Oct. 7, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Good Life Lecture: Breath Work for Stress Management with Shazia Gogia This workshop will explore physical and emotional health benefits from breath work. We will learn and practice together a few different breathing techniques to calm and balance the nervous system and to reduce stress and anxiety. Shazia Gogia is a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, ayurvedic practitioner and ayurvedic chef. Presented on Zoom, register online.
Thursday, Oct. 8, 7-7:45 p.m. Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Virtual Dance Performance In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, six dancers from Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles will present a special performance for our library audience. One of the premier Mexican folk dance companies in the nation, Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles has performed at world-class venues, shared the stage with Grammy Award-winning artists and worked with Disney Studios for a performance in celebration of Pixar’s Coco. Thursday, Oct. 15, 7-7:30 p.m. Live From My Living Room Concert Featuring Pipe Dream The “Live From My Living Room” concert series continues with a performance by Pipe Dream. The duo features the combined talents of Cobby Brzeski, jazz and swing vocalist and songwriter, on flute, guitar and vocals and Andrew Bustamante on flute, beatbox and beatbox flute.
