Genealogy Program Meeting (Faraday Center)

Getting The Most From Distant Relatives

Presented by Ed Storey

Speaker will present remotely / Presentation will be recorded

Every genealogist has some holes in their tree, where they were not able to find sufficient information or do not understand enough about the ancestors. One way to improve understanding is to look at adjacent people such as siblings, aunts or uncles and others who might be noted on what documents are available.

Here, we will go over some techniques that can be used to fill in the holes looking at these adjacent relatives. We will cover what to plan in advance, how to find these people and how to use them to maximize your understanding.

The Genealogy Program Meeting is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program features speakers with expertise on various issues relating to genealogy.

The program is held the fourth Tuesday of the month from January through November and is presented in person and virtually.

  • Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for social time.
  • Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
