The city’s economic development team is working with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and the Carlsbad Village Association to provide business-related COVID-19 updates.

There are more than 7,000 businesses in Carlsbad. The City of Carlsbad is committed to attracting new businesses, retaining current businesses ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive in the city. Part of having a successful business is participating in the larger business community. Knowing where to find the information you need for your business is just as important as the information itself. Local connections

  • Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce: We are fortunate to have a highly connected and sophisticated membership organization that supports and celebrates Carlsbad’s extraordinary business community. 
  • Carlsbad Village Association: For merchants and businesses in Carlsbad Village, the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) has been elevating the Village as a destination for premier downtown experiences like the weekly farmer’s market as well as a great home for innovative businesses looking to provide employees with that walkable, urban setting along the coast.
  • MiraCosta Technology Career Institute: Through a collaboration with the City of Carlsbad, MiraCosta College’s Community Education & Workforce Development department is leasing city-owned property to run the Technology Career Institute. The Institute offers certificates to support the city’s high tech business community, specifically in life sciences and information & communications technology and has multiple veteran serving programs in high risk security. The institute also conducts company-specific training and is home to the North San Diego SBDC and the SoCal Veterans Business Outreach Center.

From tech startups to life sciences and communications, North County is the place where innovation and lifestyle collide. Here, in the five forward-thinking communities that comprise the 78 Corridor, creative leaders are gathering to continue this momentum of innovation and success. Together, we represent Innovate78, a hub of innovation that is driving talent and creative capital to the 78 Corridor.
  • San Diego North Economic Development Council: The North County economic development organization that serves the cities along the 78 corridor as well as Encinitas and Poway. The organization hosts a variety of events and summits to discuss the economic positioning and trends affecting North County communities.
  • San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation: A regional economic development organization that provides assistance with expansion plans, programs to help retain business and advocates for policies that enhance the region's economic competitiveness. They lead attraction efforts to bring new investment and new companies to the region. The organization also conducts economic research to inform business and civic decision-making. World Trade Center San Diego is also operated out of the regional EDC and operates excellent export-oriented programs including MetroConnect.
