Join us on Saturday, Sept. 17 at. 2 p.m. in the Schulman Auditorium at Dove Library an author panel in partnership with Adventures By the Book on September 17, featuring voices of inspiration from authors Shugri Said Salh, Jesse Leon and Jillian Haslam. Each author will discuss their personal stories of resilience and survival, touching on topics including the refugee experience, substance abuse, mental health struggles, poverty, and trauma through the lens of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ experiences. We will also have three resource tables, Breaking Down Barriers, North County LGBTQ Resource Center, the Carlsbad City Library Literacy Services and Carlsbad Online High School, before the author panel in the Dove Courtyard so that attendees can learn about resources & educational opportunities on the topics above.
