Artist Registry
The city’s Cultural Arts Office invites visual artists to submit an application to the new Artist Registry, a prequalified list of artists that will be used for upcoming temporary public art opportunities. Temporary public art experiences last from 2 days up to seven years and include outdoor and indoor projects with a range of media and budgets.
To be considered, please complete this online Artist Registry submission. Only completed forms will be accepted for full consideration.
This is the first step for artists who are interested in being considered for temporary public art projects within the City of Carlsbad during the next 2 to 3 years.
Virtually Artful
With theaters, performance spaces and galleries closed due to the pandemic, the connection between artist and performer and their audiences have been compromised, if not significantly jeopardized. To help offset these difficulties, interested artists, performers and arts organizations can apply with a programming concept.
Whether a performance or a workshop, Cultural Arts will select a limited number of applicants to partner with and produce their virtual programming which will be distributed through the city’s cable access and YouTube stations. Cultural Arts will provide technical support for filming in the Schulman Auditorium if needed and a stipend. Cultural Arts staff will review all applications and select those that meet performance and arts education goals.
