Located west of the Water's End housing community, this off-street biking alternative to the bike lanes on Avenida Encinas includes interpretive signage and information on an endangered fairy shrimp species that inhabits seasonal vernal pools ear the trail and the railroad right-of-way near the south end of the trail.

Parking is available at the Poinsettia Coaster Station trailhead, west of the train station kiosks.
