The City of Carlsbad is committed to maintaining the important infrastructure needed to safely and reliably operate our wastewater system. Food service providers are required to participate in the city's Grease Control Program and properly dispose of fats, oils and grease. When grease enters the wastewater system it can harden and clog pipes, causing wastewater overflows into streets and our beautiful ocean, lagoons and beaches.
