Rebates and incentives
- NEW: The San Diego County Water Authority is offering a rebate program that can help some Carlsbad residents save money and water by covering the cost of a new low-flow toilet – including installation. Carlsbad residents who live in qualifying multifamily housing or mobile homes communities, or residents with limited incomes are eligible to apply for the program.
- Save water and earn rebates with a variety of water-saving technologies including high-efficiency clothes washers and toilets, rain barrels and irrigation nozzles.
- Rebates are available for businesses that convert industrial water systems to recycled water service or upgrade to drought tolerant landscaping.
- Get site specific recommendations for saving water with a free virtual water efficiency survey from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
- Register for free water wise landscaping workshops.
Report water waste
To report water waste in the CMWD service area, call 442-339-2722 or email water@carlsbadca.gov. Report any observed over-watering, sprinkler overspray or other violations with as much detail as possible, including street address and time of day.
Many parks, street medians and homeowners’ association landscaped areas are irrigated with recycled water, a drought proof supply that is not subject to current water use restrictions.
